Principal's Newsletter - November 12, 2014

Thank you all for attending parent conferences last week.  It is so important that you and the teachers have a chance to appreciate your child through each other’s eyes.

This weekend I had a very special moment.  I took communion from one of our ASCA graduates. At my age it is quite surprising that I haven't received from a former student before, but I haven't. It was very moving for me. I always enjoy being a Eucharistic Minister myself. It gives me a chance to focus individually on each child or parent who comes through the line.  Many years ago, I realized what a perfect moment of forgiveness communion is. No matter what conversation we might have had during the week, it needs to be washed clean as that person and I share this moment of Eucharist with each other. And now another realization; the torch is passed to our next generation of our wonderful church. It was a powerful moment for me to share the Eucharist in this way with my student. The educator in me delights in seeing this happen.  God is good.

This Friday, November 14th is Jersey Over Day at All Saints for our ASCA athletes.

We encourage all students who competed on ASCA cross country, volleyball, cheer or football teams to wear their ASCA uniform jerseys over their school uniform.

Special Note for Volleyball Athletes:  Because this Friday is Jersey Over Day, and it will be difficult for all parents to wash their student’s volleyball uniform before this Friday evening’s banquet, we are asking parents to wash your volleyball player’s uniform, place it in a marked baggie (with name and team), and return it to the school office by NEXT Friday, November 21.  If you have any questions, please email asaa@ascacademy.org.
