Principal's Newsletter - October 7, 2015

We wanted to share a little story to make you smile! Joey Coleman is a 4th grader at ASCA. He is afflicted with Down Syndrome.  Last week, the 4th graders had to run the mile in gym class. It was such a beautiful sight to see. Joey had one more lap to go after the rest of his class finished. They all ran across the field to catch up to him and encourage him to keep going. The students then ran the last leg with him even though they were all exhausted from just running the mile themselves. Joey ran the last two straightaways in their entirety, something he has never done before. This was because of the support of his classmates. He even sprinted to the end! It is truly amazing to see how proud his peers are of him!

Your Used Eyeglasses Can Make a Difference!

This month, Community Outreach is collecting used eyeglasses.  Most of the eyeglasses we collect will be recycled and used to support mission work in third world countries.  Your support of the Lions Recycle For Sight Program will help people see clearly for the first time in their lives, enabling them to read, attend school, gain employment and take care of their families.

We are asking students to bring the glasses into school with them and put them in collection boxes located in each homeroom.

FACTS E Invoicing, Field Trips and Auto Pay

All Saints is committed to making the lives of our families easier by cutting down on paper clutter and personal check payments with a move to electronic paperwork and payments.  This year, All Saints will begin using a feature called E Invoicing for all student field trips.

How does this work?   Families will receive field trip forms electronically, with all field trip payments made through each family's FACTS account.  It is important that you open these emails in a timely way so that you can give us the electronic authorization for your child to attend the field trip, and authorization to bill your account for the trip.  It will also be your responsibility to make sure that you pay for the trip by the invoice due date so your child will be able to attend.

We hope that you have already made the change to Auto Pay in your account, which will ensure that your field trip payments (and all other fees incurred by your student/family) are automatically paid on the invoice due date.

Please note that ASCA has now instituted a late charge of $25 for all incidental fee charges that are not paid in full by the invoice due date.  Your enrollment in Auto Pay will ensure that you do not incur the $25 late fee for failure to pay on time.

How do I enroll in Auto Pay?

  • Log into your FACTS account and select the Auto Pay feature which will ensure that all subsequent incidentally billed charges will be paid automatically on the invoice due date.

  • Contact FACTS at 1-866-441-4637 .  They can make the change to Auto Pay for your account.

  • Simply select the Auto Pay option the next time that you receive an incidental billing email.   While you will have to initiate payment for that incidental billing email, all subsequent incidentally billed charges will be paid automatically on the invoice due date.

Remember that there is a full 10 days from the date that a fee is invoiced (for which you receive an email notification) before it is paid from your account if you are on Auto Pay.  If there is ever a problem with an amount that is billed, you will have time to inquire about the charge before it is withdrawn from your account.

Note that families who have not elected to enroll in Auto Pay by Wednesday, October 7 will be enrolled by the school on that date.  Please contact Patty Bajek at (630) 961-6125, or pbajek@ascacademy.orgwith any questions.
